When it comes to shopping in Kingston – it is not a question of "if" but "when" the activity will begin. Hmmmm, but where to begin…?? Well there is the country’s oldest continuously run, outdoor Farmers' Market nestled in behind historic City Hall. It features fresh local seasonal produce and handmade crafts. Surrounding our recently rejuvenated Market Square are 100+ unique shops and boutiques that stretch all the way up Princess Street and part way up Brock Street… you could easily spend a whole day just walking up and into these one-of-a-kind shops and eateries.
Also not to be missed is a wonderful selection of outlet stores across our city that offer factory outlet pricing on everything from top name ladies fashions to sports and casual wear and gourmet kitchen gadgets to fine china… surely you’ll find something that you’ve been meaning to purchase for yourself or a friend. From downtown to across town you’ll find our outlet shops tucked into the most surprising corners and well worth the visit.
Of course Kingston is also home to three large shopping mall areas – the Kingston Centre is located where Bath Road and Princess Street (Hwy 2) meet; the RIOCAN Centre is along Gardiners Road just north of Bath Road; and the Cataraqui Town Centre at Highway 2 and Gardiners Road – they combine to make a perfect triangle of your favourite stores in a convenient and well laid out format. These larger shopping mall areas feature many additional conveniences as well – including ample parking, convenient Kingston transit service, and walk-in medical and dental clinics and banking services.
